Finding out more about you as an artist is very important to art collectors who are considering buying your work, as well as to our own curators when selecting artworks for Artistically’s featured collections and special series such as Collector Favorites and One to Watch.

Your bio should include such information as: where you were born and raised; where you currently live; your education (schools you’ve attended, workshops or mentors you’ve worked with); prizes and awards you've won; exhibitions or fairs that you’ve taken part in (large and small alike!); and collections (both private and public) that include your work.

The recommended checklist of info that you should include in your bio:

  • Where you were born and raised
  • Where you currently live
  • Your artistic influences and where you draw inspiration
  • Your medium(s)/technique(s)of choice and why
  • Whether you're self-taught or received formal education/tutelage
  • Artists you've worked under/with
  • Prizes and awards you've won
  • Exhibitions that you’ve taken part in
  • Collections (both private and public) which include your work.

You can find your Artist Profile Bio inside your Artist Dashboard > Profile Information

To access your Artist Dashboard - Navigate to the upper right menu or select the Icon

Now that you're inside your Artist Studio, look to the top navigation to locate Profile Information

In the registration process, you can find text fields. You can fill these fields and create your profile.

Gaining insights into your background as an artist holds significant value for art collectors contemplating the purchase of your artwork. It is equally crucial for our curators when selecting pieces for Artistically’s featured collections like Collector Favorites and One to Watch, among others. Your biography should encompass details such as your birthplace and upbringing, current residence, educational background, accolades received, participation in exhibitions or fairs (regardless of size), and inclusion in private and public collections.

Here is a recommended checklist of information to incorporate into your bio if you wish:

  • Birthplace and upbringing
  • Current place of residence
  • Artistic influences and sources of inspiration
  • Preferred medium(s) and technique(s), along with the rationale
  • Whether you are self-taught or received formal education and tutelage
  • Artists you have collaborated with or worked under
  • Prizes and awards you have earned
  • Exhibitions in which you have participated
  • Inclusion of your work in private and public collections

Your Artist Profile Bio can be located within your Artist Dashboard under Profile Information.

Ensure that you carefully tick or select all the pertinent category checkboxes prior to uploading your paintings/ art. The selections you make will dictate how your paintings/ art are categorized and displayed in the filtering system when the customers search for a particular painting or any other form of art.

Step 1 – From your artist profile page, click the edit button which is indicated by the pencil icon in the center of your image when logged in.

Step 2 –  You should now see a popup allowing you to select a file from your computer files. Click the file name of the image you wish to upload it to your account.

The system will now place your selected image file into the circle crop space of the avatar.

If you're unhappy with your image crop, you will need to tweak your image file prior to uploading it again.

Note: For optimum quality, your profile image size should be 300x300 pixels.

3.1 Upload Banner Image

First, know that your Cover Photo is only applicable to Artist Profiles. You must become an Artist type account before getting access to your Artist Profile or Dashboard page.

Once you're set up as an Artist account, go to your Artist Profile Page.

There, you'll see a large banner across the top. That is your Cover Photo, also sometimes referred to as a Hero Image.

Select the prompt "Add Cover Photo"

Select the image file you'd like to upload as your Cover Photo.

Remember, the recommended specs for your Cover Photo Image File are:

- 1440 pixels in width
- 260 pixels in height
- 300 dpi resolution
- JPG file type
- sRGB color profile
- No larger than 5 MB

Remember to take advantage of this space as it can add a really nice design element to your Artist Profile page. You can use this space to showcase artwork details, photos of your regularly used materials, or snapshots of your studio or anything else.

Here are a few creative usages for your Cover Photo:

Artwork Detail (Close Up)

Materials Detail:

Studio Detail:

This space is specific to a banner image, so only certain image files will work best within the designated area. You’ll need an image that’s long in width and short in height to meet the specified dimensions.

4.1 How to Upload Display Images

When it comes to uploading display images in an online art gallery to sell artists' artworks, it's essential to provide the best visual representation of the pieces. Here's a guide on how to upload, edit, or delete different types of images effectively:

1. Upload Hero Image (Display image):

  • Select the highest quality image of your artwork to serve as the Hero image. This image will be prominently displayed and should capture the essence of your artwork to attract potential customers.
  • From the artist dashboard, navigate to the upload section and choose the option to upload the Hero image.
  • Ensure that the Hero image is well-lit, properly cropped, and accurately represents the colors and details of your artwork.

2. Upload Secondary Images (thumbnail images):

  • Customers often want to see multiple angles or close-up shots of artwork before making a purchasing decision.
  • Choose 4-5 additional high-quality images of your artwork to serve as secondary images.
  • These secondary images should provide different perspectives, details, and close-up views of your artwork to give customers a comprehensive understanding of the piece.
  • From the artist dashboard, upload these secondary images to complement the Hero image and provide a more detailed view of your artwork.

3. Upload a Background wall Images (Getting a realistic look):

  • Showcase your artwork in a real-world context by uploading wall background images.
  • Artistically offers a selection of wall background images from its library for artists to choose from.
  • Select the most suitable wall background image that complements your artwork and enhances its presentation.
  • Use the drag options to adjust the size and position of your artwork on the wall background image to create a visually appealing display.
  • Ensure that the wall background image does not overshadow your artwork but provides a context that enhances its appeal to potential buyers.

By following these guidelines and utilizing the features provided by the online art gallery platform, artists can effectively showcase their artworks and attract customers with compelling visual representations.

An essential task for artists showcasing their work on our online platform is ensuring proper packaging for their artwork. This involves acquiring necessary materials such as hardboard tubs, plywood sheets, plastic wrap, butter paper, bubble wrap, thermocol sheets, and sellotape. These items are crucial for safeguarding the artwork during transit and delivery.

If your artwork includes a frame, it's important to have a sturdy wooden box ready or to engage a skilled carpenter for its fabrication. This ensures that your artwork remains secure and protected during shipping. Prompt action is necessary, as once your art is sold to a customer, packaging must be completed within 3-4 days, tailored to the dimensions of your artwork.

For more detailed instructions on packaging requirements, please refer to Point No. 22 in our documentation. We understand the importance of presenting your artwork professionally and ensuring its safe delivery to your valued customers.

How to optimize your profile and utilize the power of SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a vital process for refining a website and its content to heighten relevance and authority when users search for topics aligned with their interests, such as art, artists, and online art transactions. Popular search engines like Google analyze and assign value to content, determining its ranking.

As an open platform showcasing exceptional artworks from global artists, our primary content comprises artist profiles and the artworks they upload. The discoverability and sales potential of artists hinge on the completeness of their profiles and the detailed descriptions of their artworks using the tools at their disposal.

To maximize your potential for discovery within the site and by collectors online, consider the following tips:

Tip #1: Complete Your Profile A comprehensive profile, encompassing your artist statement, biographical details, events, education, a quality profile photo, and a compelling hero image, is crucial for a successful artist account.

Tip #2: Categorize Your Artworks Correctly Accurate categorization of your artworks based on style, subject, and medium is essential for attracting the right audience, both on the site and through filters used by collectors and our Art Advisory team.

Tip #3: Maximize Artwork Descriptions and Diversify Provide detailed information about your artwork in English, emphasizing the 'why' behind your artmaking. Duplicating listings is acceptable but diversify your descriptions to avoid negative impacts on your profile.

Tip #4: Diversify Artwork Keywords Use effective keywords that describe various elements of your artwork, including subject, colors, mood, style, and artists who inspired you.

Tip #5: Diversify Your Offerings Offer variations in size, and price, and consider providing Open Edition prints to broaden your audience and cater to different budgets.

Tip #6: Do Not Delete Sold Artwork or Artist Profile - Preserve Visibility and Ranking
Avoid deleting sold artworks or your artist profile to retain visibility and ranking. Consistently maintaining your page over time contributes to increased traffic and ranking. If your artwork is sold through the Artistically website, we will label it as "SOLD OUT" to inform visitors of its availability status. This approach ensures that your portfolio remains active and accessible, enhancing your online presence and potential for future sales.

Tip #7: Thoughtfully Title Your Artworks Craft relevant and intentional titles for your artworks, as they significantly impact discoverability.

Tip #8: Upload Multiple Images to Each Listing Utilize high-quality images in controlled settings to increase the chances of making a sale and catching the attention of Art Advisors. Multiple images and captions contribute to discoverability.

Tip #10: Fill Out Curator Notes Provide context about your background and artist career in Curator Notes to aid Art Advisors in selecting your work for features, special collections, and projects.

Engage with the Artistically community to boost exposure and gain followers through activities such as following admired artists, adding work to favorites, and creating and sharing artwork collections.

An online art gallery commission system typically operates as follows:

1. Establishment of Terms: Artistically outlines its commission structure in its terms and conditions or artist agreement. This includes details such as the percentage of the sale price that the gallery (artistically) will retain as commission and any additional fees or charges that may apply.

2. Artwork Listing: Artists upload their artwork to the Artistically gallery's website or platform, including images, descriptions, and pricing information. The gallery may review and approve artwork submissions before they are published online.

3. Sales Transactions: When a customer purchases artwork through the Artistically online gallery, the transaction is processed securely through the gallery's e-commerce system. The gallery receives payment from the customer, deducts its commission and any applicable fees, and disburses the remaining amount to the artist.

4. Commission Calculation: The commission amount retained by Artistically is typically calculated as a percentage of the final sale price of the artwork. This percentage may vary depending on factors such as the type of artwork, the artist's reputation or sales history, and any negotiated agreements between Artistically and the artist. However, typically, the gallery commission is between 30% and 35%. For example, if an artwork is sold for $1,000 (excluding shipping), and the artist is entitled to $700 (i.e., 70% of the total sale amount), Artistically will reimburse the artist with the owed 70% ($700), while retaining $300 (30%) as commission.

5. Artist Payouts: After deducting commissions and fees, Artistically disburses the remaining funds to the artist according to the agreed-upon payment schedule. Typically, this process takes between 7 to 15 days, depending on confirmation from the customer that the order has been received and meets their satisfaction. It's crucial for artists to ensure timely shipping of their orders (within 3-4 days) using high-quality packaging materials. Additionally, artists must include all necessary documentation, such as invoices and clear labeling of packaging materials, and ensure accurate size and weight information to expedite customs clearance and prevent delays.

Please note: In the event that a customer returns the artwork for any reason, no payout will be issued. In such instances, Artistically will communicate with the artist to resolve the matter and facilitate the return of the artwork to its origin. We will also communicate with the customer to ascertain the reason for the return and provide appropriate supporting documentation such as photos or videos. We aim to ensure a smooth resolution and uphold transparency throughout the process.

6. Sales Reporting: Artistically provides artists with access to sales reports or dashboards where they can track their artwork sales, view commission deductions, and monitor their earnings over time. This transparency helps artists understand their financial performance and make informed decisions about their artistic practice.

7.Dispute Resolution: In the event of any disputes or discrepancies regarding sales transactions or commission payments, Artistically and the artist work together to resolve the issue in a timely and fair manner. This may involve reviewing transaction records, communicating openly, and negotiating a resolution that satisfies both parties.

Overall, our normal and effective commission system ensures transparency, fairness, and mutual benefit for both Artistically and the participating artists. It incentivizes artists to showcase their work on the platform while allowing the gallery to generate revenue to support its operations and services.

Should you wish to remove a listing for an Original Work of Art or Digital Work from the Services, follow these simple steps:

In an online art gallery, there may be situations where artists need to remove their content or items from the display list. Some of these situations include:

1. Artwork Sold: If an artist sells their artwork through the Artistically online gallery, do not Delete Sold Artworks or Artist Profile Retain visibility and              ranking by avoiding the deletion of sold artworks or your artist profile. Maintaining your page over time contributes to increased traffic and ranking. If          art  is sold by the Artistically website, Artistically will label that the particular art as “SOLD OUT”

2. Exclusivity Agreements: Artists may have exclusivity agreements with certain galleries or buyers, which prohibit them from displaying their artwork in      other online galleries. In such cases, artists may need to remove their content from the display list to comply with these agreements.

3. Gallery Representation: Artists who are represented by physical galleries may need to remove their artwork from online galleries if they are                      exclusively represented by a particular gallery for online sales.

4. Copyright Infringement: If an artist discovers that their artwork has been unlawfully copied or reproduced without permission and is being displayed        on the online gallery, they may request the removal of the infringing content to protect their intellectual property rights.

5. Quality Control: Artists may wish to maintain a certain level of quality or consistency in their online portfolio. If they feel that certain pieces no longer        meet their artistic standards or no longer represent their style, they may choose to remove them from the display list.

6. Personal Reasons: There may be personal reasons why an artist decides to remove their artwork from an online gallery, such as a change in artistic        direction, a desire for privacy, or simply to rotate their portfolio and showcase new work as just for display or social media attention or likes.

7. Disputes with the Gallery: Artists may have disagreements or disputes with the online gallery regarding terms of service, payment, or other issues,          which could lead them to request the removal of their artwork from the platform.

8. End of Representation: If an artist decides to end their relationship with the online gallery or terminate their account, they may request the removal of       their artwork from the display list as part of the process of disengagement.

9. Artwork Not Ready for Shipment: If an artist's artwork is not yet prepared for shipment due to ongoing work, framing, or other logistical reasons,            they  may opt to temporarily remove it from the display list to avoid potential orders or inquiries that cannot be fulfilled immediately.

10. Artwork Already Sold: Artists may need to promptly remove their artwork from the display list if it has been sold, either through the online gallery or          via another sales channel. This helps prevent confusion and ensures that only available pieces are showcased to potential buyers.

11. Long-Term Gallery Display: In cases where an artist's work is being displayed in a physical art gallery for an extended period, they might choose to        remove the same pieces from the online gallery's display list to maintain exclusivity or create a sense of urgency for potential buyers who may prefer        acquiring the artwork directly from the physical exhibition.

12. Limited Availability for Communication: If an artist is unable to check their communication channels regularly due to circumstances such as                  hospitalization, illness, long-term travel, or vacation, they may opt to temporarily remove their artwork from the display list to avoid potential inquiries          that cannot be promptly addressed.

13. Logistical Challenges with Shipping: In cases where an artist finds themselves unwilling or unable to promptly pack and ship artwork due to                  logistical challenges or personal reasons, they might choose to temporarily remove their artwork from the display list until they can fulfill orders in a            timely manner.

14. Diminished Interest in Online Sales: If an artist's enthusiasm for online sales wanes over time or if they decide to focus on other avenues for                  selling  their artwork, they may opt to remove their artwork from the display list altogether, redirecting their efforts towards alternative sales channels          or creative pursuits.

15. Disagreements Over Commission or Pricing: Artists may choose to remove their artwork from the display list if they encounter disagreements with        the online gallery regarding commission rates, pricing strategies, or other contractual terms. This action allows artists to reassess their options and            explore alternative platforms or arrangements that better align with their preferences and values.

In each of these situations, artists may need to communicate with the online gallery's administrators or support team to request the removal of their content and ensure that it is done in a timely and appropriate manner.

By promptly addressing these situations and removing the affected artwork from the display list as necessary, artists can maintain transparency, manage customer expectations, and uphold the integrity of their online portfolio.

6.1.7 How to Remove:

  1. Access your account.
  2. Go to the artist dashboard and find the listed items
  3. Click on the image or sections that you want to delete or remove from the list.
  4. Select "Delete" and follow the outlined steps on that page.

This streamlined process ensures your control over your showcased works and offers a seamless experience for both you and potential buyers.

6.1.8 Digital Work Removal

Should you decide to remove a listing for a Digital Work:

  • The license rights granted by you to Artistically concerning Digital Work will cease as of the date the listing is removed. However, these rights will persist and remain in effect for as long as necessary for Artistically and its third-party subcontractors to fulfill any ongoing orders for such Printed Works and for any orders for such Printed Works accepted by Artistically or its third-party subcontractors or Online Sales partners via third-party websites and Offline Sales partners before or as of the effective date of termination.
  • Importantly, the license rights granted for promotional use of the Digital Work will continue in full force and effect only for the duration necessary for Artistically to fulfill existing obligations that mandate the use of the Digital Work for promotional purposes.

6.1.9 Conclusion

This comprehensive framework reflects our commitment to transparency, fair compensation, and efficient operational procedures. It seeks to ensure that artists and collectors alike have a clear understanding of the processes involved in showcasing and acquiring artwork through our platform. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our Return Policy for Original Works of Art and to stay updated on our standard pricing and revenue share terms. 9.1. Tracking and Delivery Procedures

How to Monitor Shipment & Delivery Progress Once an artwork is handed over to a carrier (either picked up or deposited at a service station), the tracking process begins. Artists will preserve the shipping forms used for their package within their Artistically Sales Dashboard, providing them with a record of the assigned tracking number for their delivery.

Transit times can vary depending on the destination, typically averaging between 3 to 5 days. If Customs processing is necessary, the standard duration within customs is approximately 72 hours.

In the event of an unsuccessful initial delivery attempt to the client, Artistically will be notified. Two subsequent attempts will follow without intervention. However, Artistically will communicate with the client to ensure awareness of the first attempt and to facilitate the success of subsequent delivery attempts.

How to Monitor Your Package All shipping forms supplied to artists will bear the branding of the assigned carrier for the order. Artistically employs the following carriers: DHL, FedEx, and UPS.

Step 1 - Log in to your Artistically profile and navigate to your Sales Dashboard to download and access your shipping forms. Identify the Tracking Number (or Waybill Number) on your forms, along with the carrier's name. Each shipping form is specifically branded by the assigned carrier.

Step 2 - Copy the tracking number from your shipping forms and visit the carrier's website to review the status of your shipment.

Note: Artistically is vigilant about tracking statuses, and our shipping team actively monitors the transit of each shipment handled through our service.

Should you have any questions regarding the details observed during the tracking of your shipment, feel free to reach out to a Support Specialist for assistance.

In the initial email received during a sale, you will be prompted to designate the shipment date for your carefully packaged artwork.

As you embark on the packaging process, including the completion of export forms when applicable, you may find the need for additional time before your package is ready for shipping, or there might be a necessity to alter the pickup location for your packaged artwork.

Utilizing the tools at your disposal, all artists can seamlessly adjust their anticipated handoff date through their account's Sales Dashboard. It's essential to note that when an artist modifies their handoff date, Artistically is promptly notified of the change and promptly communicates the updated timeline to the client eagerly awaiting their new artwork.

Follow the steps outlined below to navigate through the process of adjusting your handoff date:

Step 1: Visit the Artist Sales Dashboard located in the Artist Dashboard tab which can be visible after login the portal.

Step 2: Within your Sales Dashboard, identify the artwork in question from the list of outstanding and ongoing transactions, with the most recent displayed at the top. Click the blue button labeled "Manage Shipment" located just below the artwork listing. If you need any further support, please contact our Customer Support team or through the phone number: (+91) - 9902373286 or WhatsApp chat, the facility provided on the portal's right side bottom.

Step 3: Upon clicking "Manage Shipment," you will encounter a screen summarizing the shipping arrangements and an option to edit the details. Click the "Edit" button to initiate changes.

Step 4: Within the edit screen, you gain the ability to modify the handoff method (pickup or drop-off), adjust the pickup location, or alter the handoff date.

Step 5: After making all necessary adjustments, scroll down and click the "Submit" button to save your changes.

Note: Following the submission of your adjustments, we promptly notify your client of the modifications. Should you have any inquiries or if the buyer expresses feedback, we promptly reach out to keep you informed.

11.1. How to Schedule Shipping for Your Artwork

Once you’ve made a sale, you will receive an email that will announce the sale and you will be provided information about next steps.

The first action for you to take will be to schedule a date when you expect the work to be packaged and ready to be picked up OR dropped off (your decision!) for shipment. Hand-off should usually take place 2-3 days after the collector has purchased the work. It is very important that you schedule a handoff date immediately

Note: This first email we send means the buyer has already paid in full and will be looking for the next update, from you on when the work will be on its way. -- if you do not respond within 24 hours, expect to receive an email and phone call from our Support Team

Step 1 - Click the link provided within your Sales Notification (in the Artist Sales Dashboard or in email or SMS or WhatsApp message). You will be taken to the handoff confirmation page.

You will first be asked to confirm that the artwork sold is in fact available. You will confirm the artwork by clicking, “Yes, this artwork is available” from the options provided.

Step 4 - Click submit once all address information has been entered.

You are done! Your hand off has been arranged and you are now ready to begin the process of packaging your artwork in preparation for the date you selected hand off to take place.

Note: Once you have selected your hand off date we will automatically update your client on what to expect. If you encounter any unexpected delays due to production, schedule conflicts or unplanned delays in the packing process there will be an option to adjust your current shipping arrangements.

To update existing hand off arrangements please refer to the article titled, ‘ADJUSTING YOUR HANDOFF’

Artistically ensures all shipments up to the amount equivalent to the artist's commission for the sold artwork. For instance, if an artwork is sold for $1,000 (excluding shipping), and the artist is entitled to $650 (i.e., 65% of the total sale amount), Artistically will reimburse the artist with the owed $650, even if the artwork sustains damage during shipping despite proper packaging adherence to our guidelines.

In the event of artwork damage, Artistically takes charge of resolving the matter with the carrier, acting as the intermediary in the shipping arrangements. We directly communicate with carriers on behalf of both the artist and collector. It's important to note that only artworks packaged according to Artistically's packaging guidelines are eligible for shipping insurance coverage.

For instances where artwork arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging procedures, rendering the shipment non-insurable, Artistically holds the artist accountable for the damages. We collaborate with the buyer to arrange the return of the artwork for a full refund.

Artists are requested to provide photographs of the packed artwork before shipping to assist in assessing the adequacy of the packaging. (email id: support@artistically.in) Pls mention your customer ID in the subject line.

To prevent shipping damage, it is crucial to download and thoroughly review our attached comprehensive Packaging Guidelines, which encompass information on common causes of artwork damage, proper packing materials, links to additional resources, and more.

IMPORTANT: Artists are strongly advised to document the packing process with photographs at each step as they prepare for shipment.

*Neither Artistically nor the buyer returning the artwork will be held responsible for the artwork's condition if the packing material fails during the return shipment. Clients are solely responsible for reusing the materials provided by the artist when packing the artwork for the initial shipment. In cases of severe damage due to packaging neglect, carriers may be unwilling to transport the damaged goods back to their origin. In such extremely rare cases, Artistically reserves the right to discard the damaged artwork. Compliance with our Packaging Guidelines is paramount to avoid such scenarios. We appreciate your cooperation with our Packaging Guidelines.

Artistically will furnish the aforementioned information and manage all customs and border protection charges and procedures. Nevertheless, artists are required to print the invoice (received via email from Artistically) and affix it securely onto the packaging. It should be affixed with precision to ensure readability and must not incur damage during the transit period. Additionally, if you are sending a framed canvas, artists should include details about the packaging materials, including the type of wood used, weight, and dimensions.
If in case you are sending a rolled canvas/ paper (without a frame) in a hardboard tube, still you need to print the invoice (received via email from Artistically) and affix it securely onto the packaging.

Remember to check for any specific requirements or additional information needed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) platform is often used for electronic filing of customs documentation. Working with a customs broker or consulting the CBP website can provide additional guidance and ensure compliance with U.S. customs regulations.

When exporting a painting to another country, you'll need to complete customs documentation to comply with international shipping regulations. The exact requirements may vary by country, but generally, the following documents are commonly needed:

1.Commercial Invoice:

  • A detailed invoice that includes information about the painting, such as its title, artist, dimensions, weight, quantity, and value.
  • Clearly state whether the artwork is a sale, gift, or intended for an exhibition.

2.Certificate of Authenticity:

  • An official document that verifies the authenticity of the artwork and provides details about the artist and the creation of the piece.

3.Export License (if applicable):

  • Some countries may require an export license for certain types of artwork. Check with the relevant authorities to determine if this is needed.

4.Customs Declaration Form:

  • Complete the appropriate customs declaration form, such as CN22 or CN23, providing details about the contents, value, and purpose of the shipment.

5.Proforma Invoice (if applicable):

  • A preliminary invoice issued before the final commercial invoice, often used for customs clearance.

6.Packing List:

  • A document that itemizes the contents of the shipment, including the materials used in packing.

7.Harmonized System (HS) Code:

  • Assign an HS code to the painting, which classifies the product for customs purposes. This code helps determine duties and taxes.

  • If you're using a customs broker, they may require a power of attorney to act on your behalf during the customs clearance process.

9.Value Declaration:

  • Clearly state the declared value of the artwork on the customs documents. This value is typically used to calculate duties and taxes.

10.Insurance Certificate:

  • If the artwork is insured during transit, provide a copy of the insurance certificate.

11.End-Use Certificate (if applicable):

  • Some countries may require an end-use certificate, especially for certain types of artwork or if the painting is intended for a specific purpose.

12.Letter of Intent (if applicable):

  • A letter explaining the purpose of the shipment, especially if the painting is being sent for an exhibition, loan, or other temporary reasons.

It's crucial to research the specific customs requirements of the destination country and consult with the chosen shipping carrier. Some countries may have unique regulations or additional documentation requirements for importing artworks. Working with a customs broker can also be beneficial, as they can assist in navigating the complex customs clearance process.

When it comes to delivering your artwork to customers, your customers will bear the shipping costs, and Artistically will handle all necessary arrangements. However, artists are accountable for all overhead expenses, including time or production, which should be appropriately compensated based on the sale price determined by the seller during the upload process.

Artists are also responsible for covering the packaging costs, adhering to our guidelines, and ensuring that the packaging aligns with the type of artwork and the chosen packing method.

In certain instances, particularly for artists shipping from locations outside the United States, there may be an additional responsibility for covering the expenses related to preparing export paperwork, which Artistically cannot provide. For more details on exports, please refer to the subsequent article in this section.

It's crucial to note that your packaging must adhere to our comprehensive Packaging Guidelines. Therefore, it is advisable to overestimate the cost of packaging materials and incorporate this amount during the upload and pricing of your artwork. Our aim is to ensure that you still achieve a healthy profit upon the successful completion of your sale!
